Our Company History Davis Oil Company
is a fourth generation family business with over 135 years of combined
experience. The owners of Davis Oil Company have a pretty good idea of
the proper values to run a successful company. The portrait of Mayo
Davis, the founder and their grandfather, remains in the boardroom as
an effective reminder that a good name is most important to uphold in
the business you run and in the community you serve. Davis, along with
son-in-law Bill Sexton established a network of stations in the
middle-state area that are still the basis for the success of Davis Oil
today. Due to resourcefulness and long range planning, Davis Oil has
maintained a leadership role in the industry and continues to do so.
In 1946, Davis Company began as a fuel supplier to mainly agricultural
accounts. Three years later, Davis Company became a Shell Oil
distributor.
One of the most important characteristics of a
business is its ability to adapt to change. As needs of our customers
have changed, so have our products and services. From the bay stations
to the modern convenience stores to unattended fueling, Davis Oil has
reinvested and reinvented to remain a leader in our industry.
Throughout all of the changes and growth, we have remained dedicated to
our customers. Numerous services, volume and image awards attest to the
fact that we are a premier supplier, but no awards are as important to
us than those for customer service.
